Nowhere Land is infinite and ever-growing. Newborn Domains are realities in their infancy—volatile, malleable, and desperate for definition. They are the clay from which gods are made.

Genesis Events

The Spark of Creation

A domain does not appear from nothing. It requires a seed—a concentration of emotion, energy, or belief.

Genesis Triggers:

  • The Collective Dream: When thousands of sleepers in the Real World dream of the same place (e.g., a popular fictional world), it manifests here.
  • The Trauma Echo: A site of great tragedy in another domain can detach and become its own "Ghost Domain."
  • The Count's Experiment: The Count occasionally carves out a piece of the void to test a new rule or paradox.
  • The Traveler's Wish: A Wish spell of sufficient power (or a deal with a Genius) can birth a pocket dimension.

Physiology of a Newborn

Unstable Mechanics

Newborn domains are not fully formed. They glitch, shift, and struggle to exist.

  • Willpower 1: They are incredibly fragile. A single powerful entity can shatter them.
  • Fluid Geography: Maps are useless. Mountains move like clouds. Rivers flow uphill.
    Effect: Navigation checks are made with Disadvantage.
  • Raw Magic: Spells cast here are amplified but chaotic.
    Effect: Roll on the Wild Magic table for every spell of Level 3+.
  • The Void Hunger: The domain consumes matter to grow.
    Effect: Items left on the ground for 1 hour are absorbed into the terrain.

Maturation & Nurturing

Players can adopt a Newborn Domain, shaping it into a fortress, a home, or a weapon. This is a long-term downtime activity.

  • Plant "Anchors" (powerful artifacts).

Threats to Newborns

  • The Null: Entropy seeks to reclaim it.
  • Domain Eaters: Massive astral beasts.
  • Rival Domains: Seeking to annex the new land.
