Community Gaming License — Version 1.0 — December 2025

Overview

The "Invoked by Nowhere Land" license allows game designers to create derivative works inspired by the NOWHERE Land tabletop roleplaying game system. This license is similar in spirit to "Powered by the Apocalypse," "Forged in the Dark," and the Darrington Press Community Gaming License, enabling a community of creators to build upon the NOWHERE System foundation.

By using this license, you agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this document.

License Tiers

🆓 COMMUNITY TIER — Free

For non-commercial use only.

You may create and distribute games, supplements, adventures, and other content that uses or is inspired by the NOWHERE System under the following conditions:

Attribution Required: Your work must prominently display:
- "Invoked by Nowhere Land" logo or text
- Credit to Joachim Mouffron as the creator of the original NOWHERE Land system
- Link to the official NOWHERE Land website
Non-Commercial: You may not sell your work or use it for commercial purposes. This includes:
- No sales of physical or digital products
- No crowdfunding campaigns (Kickstarter, Indiegogo, etc.)
- No Patreon-exclusive content
Share Alike: If you modify or build upon the NOWHERE System, you must distribute your contributions under the same license.
No Trademark Claims: You may not register any trademarks that include "Nowhere Land," "The Count," "The Drop System," or other distinctive NOWHERE Land terminology.

💰 COMMERCIAL TIER — Licensed

For commercial use with licensing fee.

To create commercial products using the NOWHERE System, you must obtain a commercial license from Joachim Mouffron.

Early Access: Preview of upcoming NOWHERE System updates

What You Can Use

Under both tiers, you may freely use:

The d6 dice pool resolution system
Sacrifice, Reach, and Push maneuvers
Difficulty multipliers and Veil system
Exploding dice on natural 6s

The Five Essences Framework

Forma (Physical)
Anima (Mental)
Umbra (Social)

General Concepts

Debt-based resource management
Domain-based settings with blessings/curses
Career-based character building
The general concept of portal travel between domains

What Requires Permission

The following elements are NOT included in this license and require explicit written permission:

Protected Setting Elements

The Count character and associated lore
Le Comte's Ledger as a specific game mechanic
Specific domain names (e.g., The Passage, Clockwork Citadel, Mirror Labyrinth)
Named NPCs from official NOWHERE Land products (The Doctor, Khore, The Encyclopedist, etc.)
Official scenarios, adventures, and campaign content
Specific Potentials and their exact descriptions
The Partisan language and vocabulary

Trademarks

"NOWHERE Land" name and logo
"The Null Handbook" title
"The Drop System" name (though you may describe similar mechanics)
Any official artwork or illustrations

Required Attribution

All "Invoked by Nowhere Land" products must include the following statement (or equivalent in translated languages):

"This product was created under the 'Invoked by Nowhere Land' license and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Joachim Mouffron or the official NOWHERE Land products. The NOWHERE System was created by Joachim Mouffron."

Logo Usage

The "Invoked by Nowhere Land" logo must appear on the cover or title page
Logo must not be modified, stretched, or recolored
Minimum size: 1 inch / 2.5 cm in width
Must include link to official NOWHERE Land website

Content Standards

Products created under this license must:

Not contain content that is hateful, discriminatory, or illegal
Not misrepresent the nature of the original NOWHERE Land system
Not imply official endorsement without explicit permission
Respect the spirit and tone of the NOWHERE Land universe

Termination

This license may be terminated if:

You violate any of its terms
You fail to pay required commercial licensing fees
You create content that damages the NOWHERE Land brand
You misrepresent your relationship with official NOWHERE Land products

Upon termination, you must cease distribution of licensed products, remove "Invoked by Nowhere Land" branding from all materials, and fulfill any outstanding licensing fee obligations.
